FLU

Flu is also called “Influenza”. Fly is a viral infection that mainly affects the respiratory system i.e., nose, throat and lungs. Flu can be mild to severe; in some people it resolves on its own but some definitely need attention or treatment.

Flu is different from common cold or cold because of their causes, symptoms are almost same though but flu is more severe than cold or common cold.

 

CAUSE:

Influenza caused by influenza virus is either A or B virus. It can spread if an infected person transfers droplets to another person by coughing, sneezing or talking.

COMPLICATIONS:

Some factors that might increase risk of developing Flu-

Weakened immunity system

Chronic lung disease (as flu infect nose, throat and lungs)

Diabetes

Morbid obesity

Age also plays important role because influenza mainly target children 6 month to 5 years old and adults 65 or more.

Severe anemia.

 SYMPTOMS:

The common Flu symptoms are-

Cough

Sore throat

Fever

Runny nose

Headache

Fatigue

PREVENTION/TREATMENT:

Get vaccinated with flu vaccine

Practice good hygiene

Wash or sanitize hands frequently or before every meal

Keep maintain distance from infected people

In severe case consult doctor and take proper medication.
